IoPP Launches Sustainability Packaging Committee

10 December 2009

A new task group has been formed by the Institute of Packaging Professionals (IoPP) to address the unique challenges sustainability brings to the medical device packaging industry.

The IoPP Sustainability Packaging Committee task was proposed at HealthPack 2008 by the Medical Device Packaging Technical Committee's co-chairs Alison Tyler, of Beacon Converters, and Harold Reisman, of CR Bard. Members of IoPP were encouraged to establish this committee because of the increasing necessity for an environmental focus and the inimitable challenges sterilisable packaging brings to the sustainability table.

IoPP is dedicated to the proposition that packaging is a positive, environmentally responsible and economically efficient force, operating in a modern economic society for the benefit and well-being of its people.
