Sales of cosmetics and beauty products have always depended a great deal on beautiful packages with a high seduction factor – packages that sell dreams rather than mere products. At Christmas, the industry goes all out to please the consumer while ensuring higher sales revenues.
Embossing the only ornamentation
Expensive – luxurious – exclusive are the signals given by this gift package, reminiscent of an evening clutch bag. The graphic design is refreshingly subdued in silver or gold print with an embossed sprig the only ornamentation. Refraining from printing the logo is yet another detail that emphasises the upscale appearance. The subtle design is a co-creation of the Danish health and beauty chain MATAS, the Nørgård Mikkelsen advertising agency and PAIS Design. The package is used to co-package several cosmetic products that the customer puts together herself.
FRÖVI BRIGHT for strength, superior printing and embossing
“We chose FRÖVI BRIGHT in a rather heavy substance to give the consumer the right sense of luxury and quality when they are holding the package,” says Benedikte Pais, president of PAIS Design. “We have used Frövi’s superb brown cartonboard for several projects, but in this case we needed both good printing and embossing characteristics and a white inside that gives the freedom to pack products in many different colours together without the package destroying the visual impact. That is why we chose FRÖVI BRIGHT – a choice the client, designer, production, retailers and consumers are all very happy with.”
FRÖVI BRIGHT combines the strength characteristics of unbleached kraftboard with a white and luxurious reverse. The construction of the board uses the well-established Frövi approach – a four layer virgin fibre board with a bleached (TCF= Totally Chlorine Free) clay-coated top layer. The difference with FRÖVI BRIGHT is that it also has a bleached bottom layer, making it unique in the market place. FRÖVI BRIGHT has the right strength properties for weight reduction and smart packaging solutions. Other outstanding characteristics are purity and a good printing surface.
