UV TRANSFER CENTER

The new UV Transfer Center, which incorporates the UV Technology Center, is a further development of IST's 'more than UV' strategy. The main purpose of the UV Transfer Center is to provide UV knowledge and support to our customers in all aspects of UV technology.

Examples of the work carried out by the UV Transfer Center include preparing and providing market reports and strategies, assessing the suitability of equipment for the installation of a UV system, providing advice before, during and after the purchase decision and providing contact details of other industrial partners. The full range of services is completed by those already provided by the UV Technology Center such as practical and theoretical seminars, print demonstrations on our in-house press, trouble shooting and on-site support, printing of samples and health and safety training, internal or external print and laboratory tests and documentation.

UV PRINTING DEMONSTRATIONS ON THE BOOTH

For Drupa 2004, the IST Metz group of companies has taken a huge project. The company from Nürtingen will install a six-colour sheet fed printing press on one of their two booths in hall 3 (B17 and B04) and present for the first time in a live demonstration the realisation of lucrative printing products and special effects in UV offset printing. Four different application examples will be produced alternately in front of the visitors on a Heidelberg CD 74 with varnish group.

With this live demonstration, IST Metz keeps to its company philosophy of supplying high quality UV technology and providing a complex service covering the entire UV process range. For the same reason, IST Metz created its very own UV Technology Center (UVTC) in Nürtingen two years ago. Since the opening in June 2002, the range of the UV specialists in the services industry, including advisory service, training, development of application technology, print tests and many more, has expanded substantially. Customers, partner companies and suppliers in the graphic arts industry make intensive use of these services.

UV PRINTING TECHNOLOGY SUPPORT

The UV Technology Center is part of the new UV Transfer Center with information transfer as the focus of attention. Interested print houses or companies that enter the UV market for the first time get support in all subjects of UV technologies. Different aspects are considered, as for example experience reports about trends and developments of UV applications, market chances of niche products, information about suitable machine equipment and many more.
