MGA INKS FOR GMP-COMPLIANT PACKAGING PRINTING

The need to protect the consumer demands that packages do not in any way contaminate the food packaged inside them. The sheet-fed offset inks commonly used today to print food packaging made of folding boxboard fulfil this demand only to a limited degree.

The Huber Group's MGA series is the world's first low-migration and low-odour ink system for producing food-friendly food packaging. MGA inks, coatings and fount concentrates are organoleptically neutral and only contain substances that are not capable of migration.

THE MGA SYSTEM – LOW MIGRATION AND LOW ODOUR INKS

MGA-CORONA® inks:

• Are low-migration, low-odour and low-swelling inks
• Contain vehicles based on renewable raw materials
• Dry purely through setting on absorbent substrates, such as folding boxboard, and must be coated inline with MGA-AcrylaC® emulsion coating
• Contain pigments that meet the requirements of EU Resolution AP (89)1/EC
• Are available as a Pantone® and CRS mixing system
• Constitute a system that has been granted a European patent (European Patent No. 0 886 671)

Advantages for you:

• In many cases, it is possible to do without additional functional barriers such as coating the inner side of inner bags
• The folding box is used as primary packaging, i.e. as single-material packaging
• Folding boxes printed with MGA-Corona inks and coated inline with MGA-Acrylac emulsion coating are deemed safe packaging in terms of foodstuff regulations
• If you use MGA, your food packaging already meets the specifications of the "Ink Resolution" adopted by the Council of Europe in September 2005
