Aztech Engineering Solutions produces three types of leak-detection machine, all capable of non-destructive testing for micro leaks in sealed packaging, irrespective of gas type. The vacuum-force technology used allows the machines to test for micro leaks in carbon dioxide, air and nitrogen-filled packs. MICRO-LEAK DETECTION MACHINESThe off-line machine is used to test individual packs for micro leaks, and is manually loaded. As the test is non-destructive, good packs can be returned to the production line. The random sampling machine tests packs automatically taken from the production line for micro leaks. Good packs are returned to the line, as the test is non-destructive. The in-line machine tests 100% of packs on the production line, and leaking packs are then rejected. Our range has been successfully implemented in the food and pharmaceutical industries. Our leak-detection equipment can detect micro leaks in a wide range of sealed packaging, including pouches, thermo-formed trays and flexible sealed packs. OFF-LINE MICRO-LEAK DETECTION MACHINEA pack is manually placed into the off-line machine's test chamber to test for micro leaks. The test sensitivity can be adjusted to pass or fail a pre-set leak rate. The test method will test the product for micro leaks in any flexible sealed pack, irrespective of the MAP gas, even if the pack is air filled. The machine can be fitted with a gas analyser to test the MAP gas for the presence of carbon dioxide and oxygen, and can also be supplied with a bubble-emission tank should the user wish to pinpoint the position of the leak. MICRO-LEAK DETECTION RANDOM SAMPLINGThe packs to be tested are automatically retrieved from the production line and tested for micro leaks, again irrespective of the MAP gas type. As the test is non-destructive good packs are returned to the production line. This machine can also perform gas analysis for carbon dioxide and oxygen on the sealed pack, but the packs will be rejected with the leaking packs as the pack has been pierced. This automatic testing of packs will help build up information on seal quality and integrity, providing early warning should seal-quality diminish and the occurrence of leaks increase. IN-LINE MICRO-LEAK DETECTION MACHINEAll packs on the production line are passed through the in-line machine, which will test all the packs for micro leaks no matter what type of MAP gas is used, or carbon dioxide, nitrogen or air flushed. As the test is non-destructive all non-leaking packs are returned to the production line and leaking packs are rejected for re-packing. The in-line machine will not only separate the leaking and good packs, but will also provide an early warning of increased failure rate should seal quality diminish. CUSTOMISED LEAK-DETECTION SOLUTIONSAztech Engineering Solutions can provide a custom built machine to suit specific customer requirements. Typically product size, shape and floor space for the testing equipment can require custom designs. Our in-house design capability allows our clients greater flexibility in the choice of test procedure and minimal integration. All leak-testing outputs are tailored to suit customer preference, whether this is an Ethernet connection, printer output, or simple visual indicators. The machines can also be fitted with a gas analyser to test the MAP gas for the presence of carbon dioxide and oxygen, and supplied with a bubble-emission tank should the user wish to pinpoint the position of the leak.
