Aerosol Can Leak Testing

Wednesday, September 07, 2005 by Bonfiglioli Engineering

Bonfiglioli Engineering’s KBA series has been used for leak testing of empty aerosol cans.

This series has been on the market for a number of years testing aerosol cans at high sensitivity levels and at any line speed. This series includes special features such as an autotest self check feature with calibrated leakers, testing pressure up to 15 bar, low energy consumption, up to 48 testing heads, practically maintenance free, computerised data acquisition and machine control systems.

Through continuous Research and Development and also the experience gained over a large number of reference worldwide, Bonfiglioli Engineering’s KBA series has built its reputation as being the benchmark for leak testing of empty aerosol cans.

The New Approach for Filled Aerosol Leak Testing

Bonfiglioli Engineering’s RLD-400 Series is used for leak testing of filled aerosol cans. Having the can maker testing with our KBA series, the latest modification in the United Standard UN/SCETDG/25/INF:93 makes way to the RLD-400 testing technology as a better alternative replacing the hot water bath test.

WHY…..

  • Dry up the aerosol cans after the water bath?
  • Have a labour intensive process and high energy consumption?
  • Waste tank full of water when cans burst and contaminate the water?
  • Risk that the aerosol can could get rusty?

WHEN Bonfiglioli’s RLD-400 can…

  • Achieve higher testing sensitivity at any line speed
  • Quality assurance and traceability
  • Low maintenance costs making the machine cost-effective

Bonfiglioli Engineering has been in the industry for the past 30 years specialising in leak testing for the Plastic, Metal and Pharmaceutical fields. Bonfiglioli are continuously working on new ideas and developments to mantain its position as leader in this sector.

Bonfiglioli Engineering will be participating in 25th International Aerosol Congress in Athens-Divani Apollon Palace Hotel from the 27th till the 29th September 2005, Hospitality Corner No:69.
