Italian Company Bonfiglioli Engineering has delivered and installed an in-line automatic leak tester type RLD 230R for food cans at a speed of 1200 cans per minute.
Testing is done automatically by sealing the top of the can and pressurizing with a very low pressure. Micro leaks will result a drop in pressure inside the can. Special sensors analyze the pressure pattern and faulty leaking containers will be removed accordingly with a high speed reject mechanism. The testing heads would also contain a Volume Reducer to minimize the testing volume inside the can as to maximize the leak detection sensitivity. The machine is highly precise and highly repeatable with a very low energy and compressed air consumption.
