Established in 1974, Bonfiglioli Engineering have become specialists in the design and manufacture of micro-leak testing machines for containers in the food, beverage and can industry. Years of experience and continuous research have led to the development of economical, high sensitivity, non-destructive leak testing machines for various types of containers including aerosol cans, peelable ends/E.O.E., drums etc.
Recently Bonfiglioli has supplied a number of leak testing machines to a leading manufacturer of peelable ends. The E.O.E. rotary leak tester is designed specifically to test peelable ends for leaks at high speeds and includes a state-of-the art measuring and control system. This leak tester can be incorporated into existing manufacturing lines.
The E.O.E. leak tester is fed via a vertical stacker handling system that positions each peelable end/E.O.E. under a special testing head, which is cam driven to seal precisely on the edge of the end. Testing via pressure is done and monitored to detect any micro leakages present. If a leak is detected the end is automatically rejected at the exit of the tester. This leak tester is designed to reach outputs from 150 up to 800 ends per min. Bonfiglioli has lately improved the design of the tooling changeover parts system, making it easier and faster.
A remote assistance device is also added to the machine’s specifications. This technology is ideal to assist the client should any operational problems arise that require urgent solutions. All the client needs is an ADSL modem to telephone network.
The advantage of pressure testing is that leaks through the seam and under the pull tab may be detected where conventional light testers cannot detect.
