ON-LINE QUALITY CONTROL IN MODIFIED ATMOSPHERE PACKAGING (MAP)

To have success with MAP, it is paramount to have the means to control the gas content of the packages in order to assure the long shelf life and high quality demanded by customers.

On-line analysis of the gas composition means that the gas content of each package is measured non-destructively before sealing. PBI-Dansensor focuses on combining different functions into the product. Therefore, an on-line gas analyser can be a complete and automated gas control unit, which via interface with the packaging machine, soldering oven, etc. secures that the final product, for instance a food package, is packed with the correct gas composition.
