HEAT SEAL THRESHOLD MEASUREMENT

RDM specialises in measuring heat seal threshold meansurement and manufacturing equipment that helps with the smooth running of packaging materials on packaging machines. The company is also an agent for companies such as MOCON, which manufactures a range of permeation equipment, measuring the transmission rate of oxygen and moisture through flat films or packages to determine its barrier properties.

Additionally, RDM is the agent for a company called LIPPKE, which manufactures leak-testing equipment measuring the seal integrity or burst strengths of packs and pouches. RDM have recently joined with IDM Instruments of Australia, which manufactures a large range of test instruments for the rope, carpet, textile, foam, footwear, packaging, paper, pulp and many other industries.

HEAT SEALING, HOT-TACK TESTING AND SEAL STRENGTH TESTING

The most recent technical advancement within the company is its new XS range of equipment. Through the utilisation of the latest touch-sensitive control panels, the company is taking the concept of heat sealing / hot-tack testing, seal-strength testing and coefficient-of-friction testing into the microprocessor environment. All machines are manufactured to meet standard test methods where applicable and all equipment is calibrated on a first calibration principal basis.
