The PPMA is the trade association for suppliers of processing and packaging machinery in the UK. It represents over 350 member companies. In 2009, the PPMA president will be Alan Yates of Endoline.
Along with Reed Exhibitions, the PPMA stage an annual showcase for processing and packaging machinery. The exhibition gives the opportunity for a large number of visitors to see and review a huge variety of different machinery and suppliers. This year, the 20th annual show was opened by Lord Digby Jones, minister for trade and investment.
Loveshaw attracted a large amount of interest in the products on display. In particular, the all new Pallet Master semi-automatic, turntable pallet wrapper was extremely well received. One visitor was heard to comment: "It’s by far the best pallet wrapper at the show," with another agreeing: "It's an excellent pallet wrapper, versatile and obviously designed with a thorough knowledge of the stretchwrap market, and what is required."
Loveshaw's Pallet Master pallet wrapper promises:
"Although we felt that foot-fall at the 2008 exhibition was less than previous years (perhaps a reflection of current economic difficulties), we conducted some quality and meaningful business," said Kevin Green, Loveshaw's general manager. "Assisted by other contacts in the industry, we were able to add a new, quality, distributor in Scotland. The exhibition gave us the opportunity to clearly demonstrate the superior quality, robustness, and ease of use of our Little David Case Sealers, compared to the Siat (M.J.Maillis) range of dual masted case sealers."
Stuart, the new distributor's managing director, stated: "I was sceptical at first that Little David Case Sealers were that different from anyone else. I mean, a taping machine is a taping machine. However, after a thorough product briefing and demonstration by the Loveshaw sales manager, I was convinced that Little David Case Sealers were the way forward. We are now able to supply top quality case sealers and microjets. I look forward to a long and meaningful business relationship with Loveshaw Europe."
To borrow a phrase from Lord Digby, "Quality is key to success" - a sentiment that Loveshaw whole-heartedly agrees with.
