SUBNIL specialises in a tube packaging line consisting of a tube filler, cartoner and bundler for the cosmetics, pharmaceutical, food and several other industries. These are available in various capacities catering to the high-volumes demanded by multinational companies, as well as to new entrants.

When used together, optimum efficiency is achieved with a skeleton staff. The machines can be also used independently; the cartoner and bundler may be used for any product which is in a carton. The former has been supplied for applications from cassettes and circuit breakers to spice pouches, and the latter for cube-shaped products like soaps and biscuits too.

TUBE FILLERS

The LIMBUS series of tube fillers are available in speeds ranging from 35 to 150 tubes per minute. They can handle metal, laminate and plastic tubes. Four models in capacities ranging from 35 to 150 tubes per minute are available to meet today's tube filling demands. Viscous and semi-viscous products which can be handled include ointments, cosmetics, toothpaste, shaving creams, adhesives, silicon sealants, wall fillers, ketchups / sauces etc.

The main features are as follows:

• The pump unit has a vertical dosing system, which helps in easy suction
• Bottom-up filling coupled with a shut-off nozzle ensures accurate and clean fill without air entrapment
• Indexer is absolutely smooth - the rotary turret adds to the rigidity and helps in maintaining equal level of tube at the various working stations
• Tool-less adjustments coupled with fast reproduction of settings (aided by position indicators) make changeover quite effortless - the bulk of the changeover is done by adjusting the turret

Options include saddle fold, multi-colour filling (including eight-section pie), designer seal in plastic tubes, gas flushing before and after filling and servo drives in some stations.

CARTONERS

A range of cartoners operating from 40 to 300 cartons per minute (cpm) are offered, with the smallest being for vertical loading. The intermittent cartoning machines work between 30 and 60 cpm and the continuous motion models have a capacity between 80 and 300 cpm. The cartons are closed by tuck-in, hot-melt or cold glue closure. The machines handle a range of products from blister strips, inhalers, soaps and pencils to film rolls, cassettes and bearings and a whole lot of other items individually, collated or in combination with other products / inserts.

The heart of the continuous motion cartoners is the rotary carton pick-up system. This system picks up a carton from the magazine, pre-breaks it by counter suction and then loads it smoothly into the carton chain. The carriers in the chain then hold the carton squarely till the processes of product-loading and carton-closing are complete.

BUNDLERS

The collating and wrapping machine 'COLWRAP' collates cartons (or solids with right-angled edges like biscuits and soap) in the desired configuration, wraps film around them, envelope-folds the ends and heat-seals them from three sides to form a sturdy multipack which can be placed into shipper boxes. This end-of-line machine is the ideal one for people who believe in quality packaging as well as the aesthetic value of their product.
