Most of our colorants and stabilisers meet the conditions of standard foodstuffs legislation, including FDA and EU approval, making them suitable for food packaging.

UVA ABSORBER FOR PET BOTTLES

Our new UVA absorber is especially designed to protect the contents of PET bottles. It serves to dramatically prolong the shelf-life of UV sensitive contents (such as vitamins, colorants and flavours).

UVINUL 4050 H LIGHT STABILISER

Recently, the light stabiliser Uvinul 4050 H was granted a Food Contact Notification (FCN) by the United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA). This made the product the first – and so far only – monomeric HALS sanctioned for use in plastics with food contact.

LOW WARPING PHTHALOCYANINES AND PREPARATIONS

For applications with high demands on dimension stability (for example crates, boxes, caps and closures), BASF offers a variety of low warping phthalocyanines, including our Heliogen Blue K 7104 LW and Heliogen Green K 8740 LW low warping phthalocyanines.

We also supply Eupolen® PE Blue 69-1501, a low warping preparation which is approved for food contact and especially suitable for colouring bottle caps.
