At PerfoTec, much has happened in the past ten years. What started with an idea to extend the shelf-life of Brussels sprouts has grown to a system that doubles the shelf-life of fresh fruits and vegetables.

The PerfoTec system continues to expand and is quickly becoming the standard in the field of packing fruit and vegetables. It fits in perfectly with the current focus on reducing food waste and addresses the price pressure that affects all parties involved in the fresh produce sector.

From the company’s years of experience, it appears that not only waste reduces, but sales increase when the quality of products is maintained for longer. That means not only success for sustainability, but also for sales.

The initial investment that customers make in the system is earned back within months, as a result of the savings achieved in reducing waste and increased sales. This combination makes our Respiration Control System so successful and that’s why we have been nominated for, and won, several awards in recent years.

Ten raffle winners to receive free Proof of Concept fruit, vegetable or flower test

To celebrate its ten-year anniversary, PerfoTec will raffle ten free Proof of Concept tests to interested retailers, producers and packers. The company will conduct a test on a product of the winners’ choice – fruit, vegetable or flower – to show the shelf-life gains that can be achieved using a PerfoTec system. This information is used by the company to calculate the winners’ possible savings when using the PerfoTec Respiration System.

Those interested in the raffle to reduce waste and increase revenue should e-mail PerfoTec with their reason for entry and details of the preferred product to info@perfotec.com. On 12 December, the company will draw the ten winners from all entries.

The conditions for raffle participation are:

  • One entry per company
  • PerfoTec may use test results for communication purposes (without company name if winner has any objection)
  • The test will be performed on one item from a winner’s product range
  • The lead-time is variable and depends on the type of product
  • The start of the test will be, after consultation, in 2015
