Dutch beer brewer Heineken International has signed a joint venture agreement with Philippines-based beverage company Asia Brewery to set up AB Heineken Philippines.

The deal is subject to customary closing conditions and is expected to be in effect from the fourth quarter of this year.

The new joint venture company will follow Heineken’s global policies and ethics code in all matters including supplier code, local sourcing and water management.

Asia Brewery will revamp and upgrade its two units in Cabuyao and El Salvador to produce Heineken brands and will also commence the distribution of Heineken and Tiger in the Philippines.

Beach Whiskey has raised $7.5m through a Series A funding round to introduce its naturally-flavoured American whiskey in California, Florida and Hawaii, US.

The company also intends to use the funds for brand marketing, in-store and bar promotions.
