Rhodes Food Group Holdings, a South African food producer, will acquire Pakco (PTY) LTD, a provider of branded and private label ranges of spices and condiments, for ZAR200m ($14.61m).
Pakco’s offerings also include instant meals and desserts in dry-packed, bottled and canned formats. Rhodes Food intends to bolster its business and grow in the dry-packed foods segment through the acquisition.

The transaction is subject to competition approval and due diligence, and is expected to be effective at the start of 2017.
Pacific Packaging Machinery, a manufacturer of filling and capping solutions based in California, US, has been acquired by integrated packaging solutions provider, Pro Mach, for an undisclosed consideration.
Following the transaction, Pacific has joined Federal and Zalkin, Pro Mach’s filling and capping brands, as well as NJM Packaging’s pharmaceutical filling and capping solutions.
