Henkel

Adhesives company Henkel has been named as a China Packaging Industry Training Base by the China Packaging Federation (CPF), the government body for the packaging industry.

The training certificates granted by the centre are attractive for packaging industry professionals as they are officially endorsed by the CPF.

China has only a handful of packaging industry training bases currently, which are operated by academic institutions, universities and large government-owned packaging groups.

CPF secretary general Ao Wennan said: "By confirming Henkel as a national packaging training base, we hope Henkel can take active actions to help China to develop more packaging professionals, promote innovation and sustainability, and drive the Chinese packaging industry to a new level."

Henkel and the CPF have been working together at the packaging executive academy since 2013 to introduce high-end professional training programmes for senior executives in China’s flexible packaging industry.

The academy also expects discussions between different industrial stakeholders including convertors, machine manufacturers, multinational consumer goods companies and representatives from the Chinese ministry of health and Henkel experts to occur on varied topics, such as future packaging trends, innovations and sustainability.

Henkel non-woven and shoe business Asia-Pacific global head and vice president Thomas Auris said: "With this training base, we will continue to share our expertise in the packaging business with customers in China. We are proud to be recognised by the official Chinese authority; it is our consistent, long-term approach to build our leadership in China."
