New Nestlé Facility Cuts Carbon Emissions

23 July 2009

Nestlé announced that it has opened a new £1m co-packing facility, 12 months after the project began.

The company claims to have estimated that the new facility at York in England will reduce its annual carbon emissions by 300,000 tons.

Nestlé's co-packer, IPS, will firstly manage the site where production started on 1 June.

According to the company, nearly 100 jobs were created by the facility, which will provide co-packing for Nestlé brands such as Aero and KitKat.

The project has been financed by an Enterprise Finance Guarantee Scheme.
