Issaquah City in the US will ban polystyrene takeout containers and other food packaging made from the material.
The ban requires restaurants, grocers, public schools and other food sellers not to use polystyrene containers.
The ban, which will be effective in October 2010, requires the users to comply by May 2011.
The city has joined Seattle and Portland, which have previously banned polystyrene.
