Smurfit Kappa has launched large format packaging to meet market demand across the British food and retail industries.
The new XXXL packaging, which measures 22.5m², enables food manufacturers to create larger pack sizes for easier and cheaper transit and storage of products, the company said.
The packaging, manufactured by the company's Sodeme TW9000 machine at its plant for heavy-duty materials, provides hygiene, supply chain and environmental benefits, the company said.
A single wall is used to create light packaging while heavy-duty double wall board can be used for weightier automotive, chemical, export and bulk food products, according to Smurfit Kappa.
