EC to Consult on PET Anti-Dumping Investigations

The European Commission (EC) has said it will hold consultations on anti-dumping investigations on imports of polyethylene terephthalate (PET) packaging material from Pakistan.

The EU is estimated to consume around US$200m's worth of PET from Pakistan, which is supplied by a company based solely in the country.

The EC started anti-dumping investigations into alleged cut-priced exports of PET to the EU from Pakistan, along with Iran and the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

The EU consumes around $200m's worth of PET from Pakistan.
