Pharmaceutical packaging company Helvoet Pharma said it will invest nearly €14m ($18.8m) to build a packaging production plant in India.
The Swiss based company said it expects the new facility in Pune to be operational by 2012.
Construction work for the greenfield production will start in the third quarter of this year, it said.
Helvoet plans to set up its first operational platform in Asia and India has the highest number of US FDA approved plants outside the US, the company said.
The company said it is supplying over 10 billion parts across the pharmaceutical industry every year has manufacturing facilities in the Europe, the US and Asia.
