Britain’s Marks & Spencer (M&S) has unveiled plans to be the world’s most sustainable retailer by 2015 by launching new eco production plans.
Under its Plan A environment scheme, the company said it is planning to develop, together with its suppliers, a way of sourcing all its cardboard packaging to be used in food packages.
The company, which announced “80 commitments” to make all its products aims to invest in local authority recycling to help boost packaging recycling.
The retailer said it also plans to launch a range of “age neutral” packaging that will be developed with the charity Help the Aged.
