Linpac Allibert, a division of Linpac Group, said it is planning to help its customers measure the environmental performance of their supply chains.
The returnable transit packaging (RTP) supplier said its software toolkit will allow customers to calculate the carbon emissions of its Maxinest distribution tray.
Linpac said the trays have a carbon footprint of 26kg of CO2 equivalent in total, or 0.0082kg CO2e per litre, per trip, based on each crate performing 92 return trips on a 20-day cycle over five years.
The findings account for the full lifecycle of the trays, including raw material production, manufacturing, customer use and disposal or recycling at the end of their working life.
