Stirling Products said it has acquired a pharmaceutical manufacturing and packaging facility in Cape Breton, Canada for CAN$3.6m ($3.4m).
The Australian pharmaceutical company said the cGMP compliant plant has the annual capacity to manufacture and package over 550 million tablets, 5 million bottles and blend up to 1.5 million kg of product.
The facility of 10,600ft² also includes laboratory, water filtration systems, auto mixing units ranging up to 3,000kg capacity and two fully automated filling, labelling and packaging lines.
Stirling expects to use the facility for third party contracts, funded research opportunities and pharmaceutical production, the company said.
