Graham Packaging has reported a fourth-quarter (Q4) net loss of $46.6m compared to $95m a year earlier.
The company said its operating income in the Q4 increased to $23.7m from a loss of $38.3m in 2008.
Graham Packaging's operating income for 2009 rose to $233.7m from $145.2m in 2008, the company said.
The company's North American sales were down $31.8m, or 6.7%, due to a decrease in resin costs, while in South America, sales rose by $6.8m, or 35.8%, Graham said.
Net income in 2009 increased to $14.3m as compared to a net loss of $57.9m in the preceding year, it said.
