Mexican paper and packaging manufacturer Grupo Gondi has entered a deal to buy 11 production lines from Switzerland’s BOBST and Germany’s BHS Corrugated.

The newly ordered equipment include two 2.5m-wide corrugators, a BOBST pre-print press line, flat-bed BOBST die-cutters, and five automated BOBST folding and gluing lines.

Scheduled for deliver in late 2016, the equipment will be installed at Grupo Gondi’s facilities in Mexico and at green field sites over the next two years.

The new press can be used for various pre-print carton applications, such as premium beer packaging, and will be installed at an unnamed Grupo Gondi plant by the end of 2017.

BHS Corrugated will provide 2.5m-wide corrugators with double-wall capabilities and a running speed of 400m per minute. 

BOBST will supply die-cutters, which feature feeders, vacuum transfer and register control, as well as dedicated peripherals.

The Mastercut 2.1 die-cutting lines from BOBST can cut complex shapes at up to 7,000 sheets per hour.

The five MASTERFOLD 110 GNB folder-gluer lines can process carton board packaging at speeds of up to 450m per minute.
