Closures for PET, Plastic, Metal, Glass, Carton and Flexible Containers
GlobalData’s survey provides a specific insight for manufacturers that they would be more likely to make a higher profit from today’s consumers if they decide on the path of plastic-free packaging rather than recyclable.
Global consumers’ purchasing choices are influenced by the reduced plastic content of a product’s packaging, according to GlobalData’s consumer survey research from Q3 2018.
In fact, consumers are more likely to purchase products without any plastic at all (35%) compared to ones with recycled plastic (24%).
Many brands and supermarket chains, including Unilever and Waitrose, have either chosen to introduce packaging with reduced or recycled plastic such as Solero’s first wrapper-less multipack or no plastic packaging at all such as Waitrose’s recent decision to sell groceries without plastic packaging.
