Asia-Pacific witnessed a 1.6% drop in IT hiring activity in the packaging industry in August 2021 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics dashboard.
August 2021 has seen a decrease of 0.7% in the overall hiring activity when compared with July 2021.
IT jobs accounted for a 5.16% share in the industry’s total hiring activity in August 2021, registering an increase of 0.81% over the last three-month average share.
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations leads by classification in August 2021
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations emerged as the leading IT occupation in Asia-Pacific with a share of 37.98% in August 2021, a 19.19% drop over the previous month. Miscellaneous Computer Occupations came in next, claiming a share of 18.58% in August 2021, marking a 23.64% month-on-month increase. In the third place was Computer and Information Analysts with a share of 13.39% in August 2021, a 145% rise from July 2021.
Database and Network Administrators and Architects registered a share of 12.84% in August 2021, a 16.07% decline over the previous month.
Top five packaging companies in Asia-Pacific’s IT recruitment activity in August 2021
The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, accounted for a combined average growth of 222.22% in the overall IT recruitment activity of Asia-Pacific’s packaging industry during August 2021 over previous month.
British American Tobacco posted 55 IT jobs in August 2021 and registered an increase of 103.7% over the previous month, followed by Unilever with 39 jobs and a 200% growth. Zebra with 21 IT jobs and Unternehmensgruppe Theo Muller S.e.c.s. with 16 jobs, recorded a flat growth and a flat growth, respectively, while PepsiCo recorded an 180% increase with 14 job postings during August 2021.
Country-wise composition of IT hiring in Asia-Pacific’s packaging industry
India commanded a leading presence in the region’s packaging industry IT hiring activity with a 42.08% share in August 2021, a 65.59% increase over July 2021. Australia featured next with a 12.02% share, up 2.33% over the previous month. China recorded an 11.75% share, a drop of 8.51% compared with July 2021.
Junior Level job postings dominate in August 2021
Junior Level jobs held a share of 62.3%, down by 11.97% from July 2021. Mid Level positions with a 26.5% share, registered a growth of 21.25% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Entry Level job ads with 10.11% share, down 50% over July 2021, while Senior postings accounted for 1.09%, recording a month-on-month flat growth.
