LOCOG White Paper on Packaging Material Usage

The London Organising Committee of the Olympic Games and Paralympic Games (LOCOG) packaging guideline aims to provide supplemental advice to suppliers and licensees about the provisions of the Sustainable Sourcing Code that relate to packaging design and materials selection.

In the paper LOCOG, which will oversee the planning and development of the 2012 summer games, notes that suppliers and licensees shall avoid using materials that cannot currently be recycled unless an environmental benefit can be demonstrated.

The paper suggests avoiding the use of windowed packs unless the window is easily separable.
