White Paper on ‘GHS Chemical Labeling Compliance: Requirements and Solutions’

The white paper published by QuickLabel Systems summarises the new globally harmonized system (GHS) regulations, which pertain to chemical product labelling and documentation.

The new regulations require chemical manufacturers to re-document and re-label all chemical products and meet the deadline for implementation in their geographic region.

All product labels, including labels for shipping cartons and secondary packages, as well as primary product labels, must comply with the new warning symbols, colour codes, product identifiers, numbers, signal words, hazard statements and precautionary statements of the GHS, the report stated.

The regulations, which are now legally required within the EU, parts of Asia and are in the process of legal adoption in the US and Canada, will allow manufacturers to simply export chemical products to foreign markets and import them with no hurdles.
