German pharmaceutical packaging firm August Faller and Canada-based Bellwyck Pharma Services have agreed to form a new joint venture (JV).

Besides the existing contract packaging services, the new JV Bellwyck Faller Pharmaceutical Services will offer packaging and logistics services for clinical trials from next year.

The JV will be located in Grossbeeren, Brandenburg, Germany.

The JV will enable it to expand in the European market.

The Bellwyck Faller Pharmaceutical Services’ portfolio for clinical trial management will include storage and distribution capabilities in both ambient and refrigerated temperatures, the management of returns and reconciliation and expiry extension labelling.

Bellwyck Faller Pharmaceutical Services managing director Juergen Hendricks said: “With our new partner company, we want to sustainably establish ourselves among our customers in Europe as a partner with tailored solutions for everything related to the logistics and packaging services which are necessary to optimally organise clinical trials.”

The JV will also provide full project management and logistics consultation for clinical trials in the North American market.

The services will include pure material distribution, dynamic randomised distribution through IVRS systems, the handling of studies in single or multi-language versions, and country-specific packaging, including informational booklets.

These services will be gradually extended to the European and global markets.
