German rigid plastic packaging specialist Gizeh has created a new twin-chamber cup for use in the packaging of Müller’s new yoghurt dessert line.

Currently available in four varieties, Müller’s new dessert features a combination of its yoghurt with Milka, Oreo and Daim chips.

The cup, developed by Gizeh, incorporates a white inner layer and a coloured outer surface, which is painted red (Daim), blue (Oreo) or purple (Milka) to match with the packed contents.

It also includes a three-sided label on the outer surfaces of the large chamber and a bottom label to display the information regarding the contents of the yoghurt.

According to Gizeh, the background colour of the three-sided label matches the external colour of the cup, perfectly blending the label and the basic colour of the cup.

The twin chamber is made of polystyrene using a thermoforming process. It provides an improved kink mechanism to the cup.

To produce the cup, which is the ninth twin chamber cup made by Gizeh, the company has also used injection moulding along with in-mould labelling process.

“It also includes a three-sided label on the outer surfaces of the large chamber and a bottom label to display the information regarding the contents of the yoghurt."

Gizeh has used analogue and digital labelling and direct printing to develop the twin chamber cup for Müller.

In addition, the cups can be used in coloured, multi-coloured or transparent versions. A variety of shapes ranging from square to round to unusual shapes can also be produced.

In January, Gizeh announced a new range of customer-friendly and hygienic plastic cup for Wilhelm Brandenburg.

The 175g and 125g cups were used to pack Wilhelm Brandenburg’s new smoked pork paté and liver sausage of the brands Penny and Ja.
