InnoPET Plasmax 2Q

Filling and packaging systems manufacturer KHS Group is set to expand its portfolio with the addition of the new InnoPET Plasmax 2Q coating system, which is optionally upgradeable to the 4Q.

The machine is used to apply a protective silicon oxide coating to the interior side of PET bottles.

The new 2Q and 4Q machines are capable of producing up to 1,800 and 3,600 containers an hour and targeted for converters and smaller bottling plants.

These businesses will now be able to use the tested KHS FreshSafe PET coating technology, which was earlier used to preserve larger Plasmax machines.

“KHS Group is currently planning to expand the range of dimensions to fit other container variants.”

KHS Corpoplast product manager Philipp Langhammer said: “With our new, compact InnoPET Plasmax machines, we have two particular target markets in focus: firstly, customers who wish to develop new markets through pilot production, and secondly, clients whose filling quantities were too low to date to enable them to profit from this established technology.”

The new InnoPET Plasmax 2Q can process PET bottles with holding capacities ranging from 80ml to 1.5l, as well as container necks measuring up to 38mm in diameter.
