Echte site director Dr Markus Brinkmann said: “We are pleased that we have been able to increase the production of waste bags by a further 3,000t.

“This underlines the close partnership with Emil Deiss KG and the importance of the garbage bag as a sustainable product for our location.”

RKW’s site in Echte is dedicated for the production of sustainable resource-saving industrial packaging solutions and waste bags in a three-stage production process, FFS films, shrink films and ready-made bags.

Based in Frankenthal, Germany, RKW’s film solutions are used in a number of markets, including hygiene, agricultural, beverage industry and powdery goods.

The company has been constantly investing in employees and technologies at the Echte site since 2013.

Over the last two years, the manufacturer invested up to €1.6m to enhance its garbage bag capacity.

The company’s site expansion is linked to a partnership with liner and refuse sack manufacturer Emil Deiss KG.
