German meat producer Metten Fleischwaren has selected RPC Superfos’ new SuperLift plastic bucket for its bulk-pack sausages.

Metten Fleischwaren is using the RPC pail for its good look, long shelf-life, easy-handling, and in-mould labelling oxygen barrier protection that would help keep the sausages fresh.

The 4.6l injection-moulded SuperLift polypropylene (PP) bucket has a diameter of 226mm.

The RPC pail is used by the family owned meat producer to pack five types of sausages that the company sells in bulk consumer packs, in addition to Germany’s popular variety of the veal-based bockwurst, Dicke Sauerländer.

The oxygen barrier label of the bucket provides a nine-month shelf life to the sausages at ambient temperatures.

In order to attain this, Metten Fleischwaren subjects the bucket to an autoclaving process at high temperatures for one and a half hours.

The new pails are easy to open and re-close, while they can be easily stacked at any time before, during, or after use.

“The oxygen barrier label of the bucket provides a nine-month shelf life to the sausages at ambient temperatures.”

Metten Fleischwaren chief executive officer Tobias Metten said: “In professional kitchens where many sausage meals are prepared every day, finished packs tend to take up a lot of working space.

“Here, the stacking properties of the SuperLift pails make a positive difference; where there is room for one pail, you can put a whole stack of empty pails.

“Also, in our sausage production, we value that each pallet can hold significantly more stacked pails compared to metal containers which you cannot stack. It saves warehouse space and cuts transportation costs.”

Also, the handle and light weight of the bucket makes it easy and hassle-free to carry.
