International ink manufacturer Siegwerk is set to collaborate with brand owners and converters to develop new creative packaging solutions.

Under a new initiative, Siegwerk will provide its packaging expertise to brand owners aiming to enhance packaging designs to improve their point-of-sale (PoS) impact.

The initiative is expected to combine individual design ideas and brand owners' functional demands with the technical requirements of packaging converters, in order to create packaging in compliance with necessary regulations for packaging inks.

Siegwerk will provide brainstorming sessions, feasibility and technical studies to help clients develop packaging ideas.

Siegwerk Brand Owner Business global head Dr Thomas Boucoiran said: “Our job is to support our customers’ success with innovative ink solutions to finally strengthen the differentiation of their packaging at the PoS.”

The initiative will involve brand owners, converters and ink manufacturers, which are expected to enable active discussions to develop packaging applications.

To discuss new ideas and trends, Siegwerk intends to utilise its Brand Owner INKdays programme.

The programme brings together packaging designers and developers, as well as marketers and other interested employees.

Under the programme, Siegwerk will also provide clients with training on ink and varnishes for new packaging solutions.

Boucoiran added: “We’ve successfully performed several Brand Owner INKdays and innovation workshops. We received a very positive feedback and the INKday provided great opportunities to share creative ideas and look at new future innovations.”
