Tetra Pak has introduced a new version of its aseptic carton package, Aseptic 1000 Edge with Bio-based LightCap 30.
Featuring a bio-based plastic film and cap, more than 80% of the package has been made using renewable materials, which lead to it receiving four-star certification from Belgium-based accreditation agency, Vinçotte.

Tetra Pak product management and commercial operations executive vice-president Charles Brand said: “There is a growing trend that consumers want to do more for the planet, and they want brand owners to help.
“With the authentic certification from Vinçotte, our new package gives customers credible information to communicate with consumers, and helps them differentiate their products.
“Our ultimate goal is to produce all of our packages using only sustainably managed renewable materials.”

The company also noted that the users will not have to make any additional capital equipment investment while switching to the new aseptic carton.

By GlobalDataLast month, Tetra Pak launched a new version of its standardisation units to improve the precision of dairy manufacturing processes.
The new unit has been designed for automatic in-line standardisation, allowing dairy producers to reduce the variation of ‘cream giveaway’ on their products from +/-0.020% to +/-0.015%.
