Australian retail company Woolworths has announced plans to introduce a zero-waste reusable packaging solution Loop in the country.

Developed by US recycling company TerraCycle, Loop is a circular e-commerce platform.

Woolworths has signed the partnership agreement with the aim of finding a solution for difficult-to-recycle packaging and products.

According to the agreement, consumers in Australia will receive products from their favourite brands in reusable glass or metal containers, starting from the middle of 2021.

The products will be delivered in a specially designed tote. The packaging of the used products will be collected and then cleaned, refilled and reused.
