Xeikon has introduced an entry-level solution for digital label production to offer cost-effective and affordable market access to converters.

Known as Label Discovery, the new label printing and converting solution comprises the Xeikon 3030, an entry-level web-fed digital label press.

Label Discovery also contains the entryDcoat, a digital converting line that is designed for inline and offline use with the Xeikon 3030.

The company will present the new solution at the Labelexpo Americas event, which will be held later this month in Rosemont, Illinois.

As a dry toner solution, the Xeikon 3030 digital label press allows customers to produce labels for a wide range of applications using standard flexo materials. This replaces the need for specially treated substrates and related warehousing costs.

Using dry toner is also said to make it easier to change toner colours on the system, when compared with other printing technologies.

In addition, dry toner’s non-toxic nature is claimed to make it an ideal technology for food labels in terms of food safety.

The entryDCoat is a compact converting unit that comprises a varnish, die-cut and rewind station. It is equipped with semi-rotary die-cutting technology for reduced startup and tooling costs, allowing low-cost conversion and better conventional die-cutting.
