AquaBased Technologies has launched new water-based adhesive AquaTack 7001-PAA for the lamination of low-surface-energy plastic films and other plastic-to-plastic bonding applications.

AquaBased Technologies has launched new water-based adhesive AquaTack 7001-PAA for the lamination of low-surface-energy plastic films and other plastic-to-plastic bonding applications.

The new eco-friendly adhesive has been designed for use in flexographic presses and other roller coater applicators.

AquaTack 7001-PAA is a safe alternative to solvent-based adhesives, which are used in plastic-to-plastic lamination and other manufacturing applications.

The new adhesive does not contain volatile organic compounds or ozone-depleting ingredients and can be used in both web and sheet-fed production equipment on flexographic presses. It is also a strong pressure-sensitive material, providing a permanent bond after lamination.

The product is more effective than other adhesives in bonding combinations of polyethylene terephthalate (polyester and PET), polypropylene polyethylene, polystyrene and Aclar (poly-chloro-tri-fluoro-ethylene, PCTFE) plastic film surfaces.

Cleaning AquaTack 7001-PAA is also easier and does not require caustic or hazardous cleaning products.

AquaBased operates as a division of ADM Tronics Unlimited. The company is engaged in developing and manufacturing water-based, non-toxic and eco-friendly chemical formulations for industries including food, medical and pharmaceutical packaging.
