Swiss packaging solutions supplier Baumann has signed a contract to supply a new cartoning line to a Dubai-based ice cream producer.
Baumann will design, manufacture, test, package, install, supervise and commission one high-speed MKH-4 cartoning line with complete in feed systems for continuous packing of mono and multipack products as part of the contract.
The new cartoner is expected to produce packs in the range of 180 parts per million (ppm).
The packaging system for the project will be assembled and tested at Baumann facility in Sydney, Australia, and commissioning of the line is expected to take place in July 2013.
Baumann will minimise manual labour and overall lifecycle cost of times between maintenance, and is claimed to maintain the productivity of the equipment and longer operating shifts through its latest supply.
The project location is said to be in proximity to the company's new Indonesian Service Centre in Surabaya.
According to the company, while management of end of line packaging is vital for maintaining plant productivity, in addition to providing a working environment that is safe, better use of the system is needed to pack the products, which is key to ensuring the plant operation profitability.
Baumann Packaging Systems, which has manufacturing sites in Europe, also houses the testing facility and service centres, and designs, develops and supplies packaging solutions and related equipment worldwide.
The company serves customers operating in the food, meat processing, dairy, pharmaceutical, cosmetic, paper and other consumable sectors.
