Berlin Packaging has completed the integration of United States Container (USCC), a US-based distributor of industrial and rigid packaging, following its acquisition of the company in October 2012.
According to the plastic, glass and metal containers and closures supplier, its objective is to ensure unified operations, sales and support procedures, and product and service offerings for all of the company's customers.
As part of the complete integration, all the USCC sales and warehouse locations in Los Angeles, San Francisco, and Phoenix were rebranded, and will now perform business as Berlin Packaging.
Besides the back-office, business systems of USCC have also been migrated to Berlin Packaging's Oracle / PeopleSoft enterprise resource planning (ERP) platform.
This will provide former USCC customers and suppliers access to Berlin's enhanced order, inventory and delivery management systems.
Berlin Packaging chairman and CEO Andrew Berlin said with the completion of integration, the company can continue the drive made by it in its first three months.
"Directly or indirectly, customers will notice and appreciate the benefits of a stronger, even more responsive Berlin Packaging," Berlin said.
The company now serves the market and its customers with over 90 sales and warehouse locations across North America, owing to the acquisition of the USCC.
Berlin Packaging's customers will profit from the acquisition through broader teams in the Los Angeles, San Francisco, and Phoenix areas; four new warehouses; an industrial packaging portfolio and online access to stock packaging.
The online access will be available through a USCC business unit Sunburst Bottle, which has now partnered with Berlin Packaging's Freund Container & Supply division.
USCC's former customers also stand to gain from Berlin Packaging's nationwide geographic coverage; access to offerings including Qorpak lab supplies, dangerous goods shipping systems among others.
