Bosch Packaging Technology has launched its new rod insertion and syringe labelling machine RIL 3060B and further developed its RIL series, consisting of integrated systems for the insertion of plunger rods into syringes and precise application of labels.
The new RIL 3060B requires minimal configuration, guarantees process safety and also detects the presence of pre-printed labels that are precisely attached to the syringes.
It is equipped with an integrated backstop assembly that increases the safe use of syringes for end-consumers and offers fast handling, according to the company.
The delivery of syringes to the rod insertion and labelling machine, from the filling line and insertion of a plunger, is performed by inserting the rod into the plunger without moving it.
Correctly labelled syringes continue down the line for further handling, while syringes with incomplete or incorrect labels are rejected.
The RIL 3060B features a number of controls, including checks on proper rod placement and tip-cap presence for quality assurance, as well as offering a general reject or dedicated reject station to classify and trace different fault types.
Further features of the system include locking doors, integrated in-process control and additional format sets for handling flexibility.
For the online coding of labels, label dispensers with conventional printers or laser printing facilities can also be included, while a defective label detection and rejection system can optionally be installed to avoid unnecessary waste.
The RIL 3060B can process syringe formats from 0.5ml up to 20ml, with a maximum length of 150mm, and handles up to 300 syringes every minute with six mounting stations.
Bosch that said all existing machines can be provided with the new backstop assembly station, which can also be integrated flexibly into existing filling and packaging lines.
