Constantia Flexibles has developed a new blister lidding foil, which comes with aluminum-PET-aluminum structure, requiring less heat during sealing compared with traditional paper-back foils.

The new paper-free, child-resistant easy-PIESY foil offers a smooth and robust peel, with no modifications to existing heat-seal lacquer are required.

"We continuously strive to simplify our packaging solutions while bolstering their effectiveness for both manufacturers and end-users. Our latest blister lidding solution is easy-to-seal, easy-to-open and easy-to-incorporate into existing lines."

The reduced sealing temperatures of the blister lidding results in improved productivity and puts less stress on machines as a result of its heat transmission through the laminate.

According to the company, paper-free design of the foil also makes it suited to cleanroom environments.

As well as offering the same levels of printability as standard blister foils, the new easy-PIESY blister lidding is easier to punch.

Constantia Flexibles sales and service director Frederick Lutz said: "We continuously strive to simplify our packaging solutions while bolstering their effectiveness for both manufacturers and end-users. Our latest blister lidding solution is easy-to-seal, easy-to-open and easy-to-incorporate into existing lines."

Constantia Flexibles offers start-to-finish, foil-based packaging for the North American pharmaceutical and nutritional industries.

The company's products include push-through and peelable blister foils, cold-formable foils for moisture and oxygen barriers, heat-seal coatings, PET, PP and Barex.
