French 3-D design software provider Dassault Systèmes has announced the launch of a new industry solution experience for consumer packaged goods (CPG) companies.
The new ‘Perfect Package’ solution, which is based on the company’s 3DEXPERIENCE platform, helps integrate the highly fragmented package design process across the entire supply chain to enable interesting package designs.
Dassault Systèmes industry and marketing executive vice president Monica Menghini said packaging is a vital component of any brand’s equity, and serves as an important advertising for a product.
"This is what inspired us to create ‘Perfect Package’. Creating a perfect consumer experience requires more than just a nice design tool. Our 3DEXPERIENCE platform allows to embrace the design experience need of today’s marketers," Menghini said.
According to the company, the Perfect Package industry solution experience enables a synchronised package design process from end to end, integrating internal and external organisations to create better packaging.
In order to create, visualise and validate new designs, allowing for rapid packaging iterations and decision taking, brand manufacturers, design agencies, packaging suppliers and artwork studios join forces.
The collaboration reinforces innovation, lessens package design cycles, lowers materials costs and does away with the chance for costly packaging-related recalls by creating tighter integration and control of artwork development, as well as copy management.
