FleetwoodGoldcoWyard, a Barry-Wehmiller company, has unveiled its new AdaptA Series of first-in first-out (FIFO) single file accumulation/buffering systems.
According to the company, accumulation allows the bottle-neck to continue to operate while surrounding equipment is down, thereby increasing production line efficiency.
The AdaptA Series uses adaptive accumulation by transforming an inconsistent flow of product of the upstream equipment on to a controlled product output, providing a range of options to fit any line layout.
The system also allows multiple product sizes and shapes on the same unit with minimum to zero changeover.
AdaptA MB's (Mini-Buffer) design allows pressure-less accumulation of difficult-to-handle containers without interrupting the product flow of the upstream equipment, and uses an expandable 180º zero-gap belt requiring no changeover.
The system expands and retracts as line conditions change to maintain upstream and downstream equipment in sync, wiping out a snow-ball effect.
AdaptA MB also allows equipment to be coupled while providing better space availability compared to traditional conveyors.
FleetwoodGoldcoWyard's AdaptA ML (Multi-Lane) Series offers a table style accumulation system, and its flat, low design permits handling of difficult and unstable containers at unmanageable speeds.
By allowing easy access for product monitoring, cleaning, operation, installation and routine maintenance, it also offers better maintenance and operation advantages over vertical accumulators.
The units are offered in a combination of lengths and widths to better fit a range of line layout and products, the company said.
FleetwoodGoldcoWyard serves the food, beer and beverage, spirits, bakery, personal care, pharmaceutical, as well as household products industries.
