Dubai-based disposable food packaging materials manufacturer Hotpack Packaging will open an AED100m ($27m) integrated manufacturing and logistics complex in Dubai Investments Park, Jebel Ali.

The new 350,000ft² facility houses new technology for production, storage and logistics operations. It is certified by ISO and ESMA and will manufacture various plastics, paper and aluminium products for the food service industry.

The company has implemented an integrated warehouse management software (WMS) system and a very narrow aisle (VNA) elective pallet racking system to handle products and manage high storage requirements.

Hotpack Packaging group general manager Zainudeen said that the company's move to initiate the production and logistics infrastructure is part of its efforts to meet increasing demand for its products in the food service support segment.

"This integrated facility has been set up to supplement and expand our current production lines in the UAE and further boost our already strong supply network across the Gulf and African region and beyond," Zainudeen added.

The company selected Dubai Investments Park to set up the facility, as the location is close to Jebel Ali port and Al Maktoum International Airport as well as to major highways of the UAE.

Hotpack, which operates four factories in the UAE and one in India, plans to open new branches in Jeddah and Riyadh, Saudi Arabia and another integrated factory and logistic centre in Abu Dhabi and one more in Qatar.
