Flexible packaging materials and lidding films supplier KM Packaging Services has introduced a new packaging film, KM Velvet, which offers a different texture specifically for the markets of luxury confectionery and high-end boxed goods.

Available as a reverse printed heat-sealable film laminate, the film is expected to allow brands to achieve shelf differentiation in a new style, meeting demand for flexible packaging, which is suitable for various treatments.

According to the UK-based company, the film, which can be used on form-fill-seal or flow-wrap equipment, can also be laminated to board to provide a solution for boxed products suppliers, such as confectionery and cosmetics.

KM Velvet said that the coated polypropylene will reflect the existing trend towards matt finishes and stresses the quality of the product within.

"The film, which can be used on form-fill-seal or flow-wrap equipment, can also be laminated to board to provide a solution for boxed products suppliers, such as confectionery and cosmetics."

KM Packaging Services managing director Charles Smithson said that confectionery brands are always on the lookout for a USP that will make their products noticeable when compared to others in the same display.

"This is a very competitive market and we expect that such a sophisticated development as KM Velvet will provide a winning point of difference to confectionery and packaging manufacturers in our existing and new markets worldwide," Smithson said.

KM Packaging supplies aluminium foil wraps, laminates, twist wraps, cold seal, pouches and bags for the flexible confectionery packaging.
