US-based graphic consumer packaging provider Menasha Packaging has announced the acquisition of Rand Diversified, for an undisclosed sum.
Menasha Packaging president Mike Waite said the acquisition of the contract packaging company will strengthen its geographic coverage with the addition of an East Coast fulfillment.
"Customers continue to value partnerships where Menasha Packaging can manage the entire design through manufacturing through fulfillment process. Adding Rand's expertise will help us respond to this growing demand," Waite said.
The acquisition will bring the total fulfillment operations of Menasha Packaging to 16 in eight states.
Menasha's acquisition of Rand is also expected to broaden the company's market penetration and increase its offerings in the areas of contract packaging and fulfillment for over-the-counter pharmaceutical and consumer packaged goods (CPG) companies.
The unique capacities of Rand and Menasha Packaging will strengthen the combined company's position with customers.
Menasha president and CEO Jim Kotek said, "We believe there is an excellent strategic fit between the companies and that the added design, project management and operating expertise will allow us to provide an offering to the market that is unequalled."
Rand, which has focus on contract packaging, has experience with the Food & Drug Administration and Drug Enforcement Administration.
Menasha Packaging, a subsidiary of Menasha, focuses on the food, household and personal care markets and provides design, manufacturing, fulfillment and logistics expertise to its customers.
The company provides graphic consumer packaging, merchandising solutions, corrugated packaging, food packaging, shipping containers and material handling solutions.
